About Peter Slapa
Peter Slapa is a pioneer of fingerstyle guitar in Poland.†‬He perfected his skills while living in Nashville†‬-†‬the capital of country music.†‬In†‬2007†‬he participated in the legendary fingerstyle guitar festival†'Chet Atkins Appreciation Society'. He has been invited to play as a guest of Tommy Emmanuel himself at†The†‬13th Wroclaw Guitar Festival ‬2010.
In 2007 he won a special 1st place prize in the most prestigious guitar challenge in Poland - 'Guitar City'. For the time first time in history the award has been given to a soloist. In the same year he won a special distinction as the best soloist in 'Hopes of Warsaw' - a competition held by Tygmont, one of the most famous jazz clubs in Poland.
Since 2008 he has been a tutor in a polish magazine for guitar players 'Gitarzysta'. He is a creator and owner of 'fingerstyle.pl' - the biggest Polish acoustic guitar website. He is also a creator and artistic director of 'Acoustic Guitar Show' festival and ‘Acoustic Guitar Battle’ competition.
He also tutored Polish guitarists during countless guitar workshops nd gave concerts on major guitar festivals (such as Summer Guitar Festival in Krzyzowa, Ogolnopolskie Dni Artystyczne z Gitara, Bass Days, Guitar City, Jazzlot in Ostrzeszow, Re:wizje, Letnie Warsztaty Gitarowe in Muzyczna Owczarnia, Jesieny Przeciag Gitarowy, MusicMedia exhibition).
He is an endorser of G7th capos, his name is displayed on their website next to such guitarists as Tommy Emmanuel, KT Tunstall, Bryan Adams and James Taylor. He also endorses Acoustic Image amps and David Laboga Cables.
